With the end of summer quickly approaching, many couples are beginning to contemplate destinations to keep warm during the colder months. There is an art to making plans during any season, but fall truly commands romantic attention. Picturesque autumn backdrops combined with fall fashion is a must for any idealist. Where should a couple escape to, while still appreciating timely unique climates around the world? Let me provide some suggestions.

Relaxed Romantic: New Smyrna Beach, Florida

New Smyrna Beach is an oceanfront paradise of dive-bars, gourmet restaurants, and lovely boutiques. The Northern-Florida destination is a sleepy beach town boasting a population of just 22,000.  “NSB,” as locals reference it, offers romantic scenery for any couple looking to reconnect with relaxation. This pedestrian-friendly city is ideal for enjoying a glass of cold wine on a balmy Florida evening. For those craving a metropolitan excursion – New Smyrna Beach is a little over an hour drive from Orlando.

Activity Lover: Kansas City, Missouri

Often overlooked, Kansas City is a cultural Midwest mecca. Home to the NFL Chiefs and MLB Royals, sports fans have plenty to do while visiting this agreeable climate.  Kansas City also features the first shopping center in the world – Country Club Plaza. The Plaza hosts luxury department store Halls, owned by the ever-iconic Hallmark company, as well as specialty restaurants, home, and clothing boutiques. Developed in 1922, The Country Club Plaza is modeled after the romantic city of Seville, Spain. Culturally diverse, yet familiarly comfortable, Kansas City is an absolute for any couple who enjoys activity!

Quaint Aficionados: Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply called Camel, is a quaint city in Northern California. Known for pedestrian streets and dog-friendly establishments, Carmel is the ultimate California-lifestyle destination. Partners visiting this town can sip wine indigenous to the Northern California coastline, while dining at some of NorCals prized eateries. Ladies beware – Carmel employs some of the strangest laws in the country, banning heels more than 2 inches in height to avoid lawsuits for uneven pavement. Carmel-by-the-Sea is the perfect place for any couple who would like to feel the glamour of a mediterranean climate without the hustle of a large city.  Relax and enjoy one another.

Where will you take your partner this Fall?

Thanks for a nice sharing !

I think one of the more romantic cities to visit is Italy. I personally went there on my honeymoon and my husband and I loved the food and the people there! I would strongly suggest Rome and Florence. Although it can get very touristy, especially in the summer, they are very beautiful places with so much history and culture. To break free from the tourist crowd, I would suggest you to try
some home-dining options. We went to dine with one of the local hosts on BonAppetour, and were treated to a fancy meal at their homes on the rooftop! It is very simple to book a dinner with the hosts on their website too! Other than that, I would also suggest you to try taking one of those Vespa tours, especially in the Florence country-side. Riding on the vespa with your partner across the green landscape is actually very thrilling and romantic! Hope this helped!
