MissTravel’s Tricks on How to Stay Fresh

Ladies, nothing starts off a travel date on the wrong foot than an unkempt appearances. You don’t want to fly up looking like Kim Kardashian and come down looking like Kristen Stewart on a bad day. No travel buddy wants to be greeted by the latter. So, how can you stay fresh during travel? Here are a few tips that are quick easy and TSA approved.

1. Stay Low When Get High

Trust me, you don’t want to be wobbling after experiencing foot swelling. Choose open toed sandals in-flight to allow your feet to succumb to elevation changes comfortably. Upon landing, collect your baggage, then slip into your favorite heels once the swelling subsides.

2. Cool It

You can’t find love with your eyes closed! Pack an eye cream (under 3 oz., of course) that rids of puffiness, and a tube of Visine. As you land, ask for a can of soda and a napkin–this doubles as a cooling mask. Line the inner part of your eyes with white pencil liner for a doe eyed look and your travel companion won’t be able to take his eyes off of you.

3. Pulled Up and Back

Keeping hair pulled back is the only way to fight cabin pressure hair. But not everyone looks cute in a ponytail or bun. How to get romantic vacation-ready hair. Start with damp hair, apply volumizing mousse, comb to evenly, then run finishing creme through as you twist or use a sock to form hair into a bun. Once you land, simply undo your bun and form with your hands.

4. Make Like the Flowers

Don’t let your pheromones be overpowered by stale airline smell. TSA won’t allow that cute glass Versace Crystal onto your carry-on, but you can either purchase solid perfume, which comes in plastic containers, or simply pour some of your eau de toilette into a plastic bottle for later.

5. Save It For Later

Skip the cocktail. High elevation plus dehydration ruins your complexion. Instead opt for water and avoid salty snacks. Pack a make-up refreshing spray to maintain the look of dewy skin.

Was the person who wrote this a non-native speaker or just a high school drop out with no command of the niceties of English grammar?

    I really enjoyed these tips!
FYI: there are small fragrance sticks that allow you to roll on your favorite scent.
Some are in a waxy form and others are a tiny liquid roll on. Look for them at Sephora 🙂 Travel sized deodorants or scented lotions are an option too. You can always change clothes/shoes or freshen up more properly upon arrival. Pack a dry shampoo too.
And make sure you bundle up on the airplane! So many times I have become ill after flying so now I request TWO blankets from the stewardess and hope for the best. Having a cold or sore throat can damper a vacation so take your Airborne, bundle up and get rested.

My essentials for flying: eye mask, ear plugs, ear phones, moisturizer, big water bottle, Airborne, reading material, journal for taking notes (I always get good ideas while in transit) warm socks (obviously I get chilly on airplanes), fruit or other healthy snacks. If it is a long flight I’ll bring along a sleep aid so I can bank on some z’s. If you do take a sleep aid, guard your belongings while you rest, and order a coffee when you awaken so you are alert!!

    Happy travels all!
