Traveling is great, but not when you’re single and flying solo. While we are doing our best to convince you not to travel the globe alone (there’s a site for that!), inevitably there may be circumstances where you have to face the friendly skies alone. But that doesn’t mean you can’t flirt or make connections along the way. While we can’t recommend an in-flight hook up, chatting up your cabin mates on a flight is perfectly acceptable. Some airlines are even making it easier to flirt [Virgin Airlines Allows Passengers to Send Drinks] and now we are here to tell you which airlines to fly to increase your odds of encountering a single ready to mingle. According to a recent MissTravel member, Delta is the airline of choice for most single women.

The most popular domestic airlines among single female travelers according to MissTravel:

1. Delta Airlines

2. United Airlines

3. US Airways

4. Southwest Airlines

5. Virgin Airlines

6. Jet Blue Airlines

7. AirTran Airways

64 percent of women admit they spoke to strangers while at the airport or airplane than anywhere else.

Generally women are out of their element while traveling, and the normal social rules do not apply. Some of the best meet-cutes happen in airports or while traveling. Take advantage of your setting and strike up a conversation. Just be sure to avoid being awkward [there’s a blog post for that!] and embrace the serendipity of meeting someone organically.

All personalities and perspectives are welcome on this blog, while personal attacks and name calling are not. It’s inevitable that there will be disagreements, but let’s handle it as mature adults with class to keep the dialog constructive and respectful. I fly Delta from Dubai to USA roundtrip 3 times a year, no such luck with the ladies for me! ha ha

  3. John says:

I fly hundreds of flights a year & don’t find the sky’s all that friendly no matter the airline. Seldom see single talkative women

When I fly, I naturally tend to look for the positives. Sometimes its challenging…lol. It even makes my trips/destinations more fun.

One thing I do is smile. Another is being open to conversation. It’s one definite way for me to make my round trip much more enjoyable. Smiling encourages conversation and tends to relieve the tension of organized (barely) chaos of travelers.
