A little bit about myself:
I'm a professional writer who has worked in professional theatre and comedy improv., study meditation and teach fitness and bodywork. I love conversation and debate, and doing things on the spur of the moment. I sometimes work in substance abuse prevention and counseling, and I don't drink… I have a lot of fun through choosing to connect with people and being open to revising my plan. I tend to be bohemian and quick-witted, and enjoy quiet times more than racing around — I am not an extrovert, although I meet and talk to new people easily. I do best in small groups or one-on-one, but I can shine at parties. I love to entertain, especially verbally. I love the arts, the ocean, theatre, opera and ballet. I don't do rough sports — or really any — sorry! — but I'm never boring. I'd rather learn a lot about one thing and really explore it than bounce around a lot. I have two graduate degrees, but I am not a snob, and tend to get along with any friendly person I meet.
Why I want to travel:
I want to make a good friend who knows more about traveling than I do, and whom I can cultivate a fun ongoing relationship with. I definitely want someone I can talk to because I can't imagine us enjoying ourselves unless we really like talking to each other. This doesn't mean I can't be quiet. I can enjoy many hours in mutual silence just being companionable. I would like someone who isn't aggressive about his opinions and who is very interested in discussing ideas and learning new things. I'm pretty liberal but my values are basically of the old-fashioned, «do unto others» kind. I value friendliness and compassion first, brains and humor second, and comfortable physicality in your own skin after that. I try to be attractive to other people physically and mentally, and hope you believe in that too.
