A little bit about myself:
Yes, I do freely admit to being a romantic (I'm half Irish, so it's genetic) and have actually worked to stay that way, despite what occasionally happens to us all, hence the «realistic» part, even if it is oxymoronish. In fact the Irish side does make me susceptible to crying at movies (usually sad ones but also bad ones, and sometimes at Supermarket opennings-it's a problem). But fortunately I'm part German, which has given me sufficient discipline to have a life. The Irish-German combo makes for a happy-go-lucky anal retentive (I know, a silly line, but really-fairly accurate!).
Why I want to travel:
While traveling alone has its own special charm and can be great fun, I really like to share the special experiences that travel can provide. All too often I have that impulse to turn to someone to laugh about, marvell at, comment on, discuss, et cetera, those wonderful travel discoveries.
It would be terrific to find a travel companion, a woman who can let me be silly or sappy or sensuous, who stirs my affection and passion, who laughs and makes me laugh, who can receive lots of attention with the same joy (I have a lot of fun indulging my lady, so it's important she likes it, too!) with which she gives it, who is open and honest and expects exactly the same. Want a travel companion for once/twice yearly o'seas trips and weekend stays in fun spots in the U.S., friend and lover to spoil with dinners and theatre and movies (used to teach film history, so patience). Love a variety of European destinations, Argentina, China and elsewhere.
