A little bit about myself:
I am 22 years old and working to establish myself in the world. During the recent four years, I have endured significant hardships; consequently, these have created a strong psychological foundation for me. Although I am very grateful for what I do have, I lack in every other department with very little support from my friends and family. Believing that surrounding oneself with positive people and possessing the ability to navigate strategically and successfully through obstacles contributes to personal success, I try to follow those tenets in my life. Goals are very important to me, and I live to learn while conjointly savoring the bittersweet nectar of life.
Although my personal presentation, perspective, self-awareness have evolved notably beyond that of my peers (This is not meant in an arrogant sense), I still retain my youthful energy and proclivity for spontaneity. My good-natured personality allows me to interact easily with a gamut of different personalities. Those who know me would not characterize me to be pretentious in the slightest.
Since I am a free thinker, and I enjoy challenging myself in various ways through new experiences and intellectual pursuits. Because of my love of stimulating conversation, I am certain that we can learn a great deal from each other — -particularly on my end, which I truly anticipate occurring… :) Despite sounding serious in my description, I possess a goofy and comical side, and know how to have fun! *Insert witty/comical remark*
My passions include reading, writing, music, travel, learning, and volunteering among others. Of course I enjoy great social times with friends. I am also an enthusiast of the great outdoors and activities that immerse me in it such as camping, hiking, and backpacking. The mountains in particular stole a piece of my heart many years ago, and I find myself yearning to be ensconced in her bosom time and time again. As they say in Shenandoah, «The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Go.»
Seeking a more independent and entrepreneurial direction in life excites me, but my deepest passions lie in the marine sciences (with a focus on marine mammal research studies). I plan to pursue my PhD in this field. Another source of inspiration for me is propelling an environmental project on which have been planning on an 84-acre parcel of land that pertains to sustainable living.
If given the opportunity to have «me» time, I enjoy indulging in subjects such as philosophy, psychology, science (particularly «marine» and «neuro»), environmental issues, political affairs, business, economics, sociology, religion and world cultures. I am particularly interested in understanding how the aforementioned correlate with one another. Sadly, I find such opportunities to be infrequent under my current strain. I have had little opportunity to travel and experience worldly things, and I place great value in such.
That being said, I am available to do so and have a passport! My schedule is WIDE OPEN for the next few months and I can be packed and ready in an hour if need be! ~_^ Cheers!
